Our client, a well-established freight forwarding company based in Basildon, is looking to recruit an experienced-Multi-Modal Export Operator-to join their growing operations team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with around-2 years'' freight forwarding experience-who is confident handling export shipments across air, sea and road from start to finish.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing export shipments across multiple transport modes, overseeing each file from quotation through to final delivery while ensuring excellent customer service and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing air, sea and road export shipments from start to finish.
• Preparing customer quotations and following up where appropriate.
• Handling export bookings and coordinating shipments with carriers and overseas agents.
• Completing customs clearance procedures and ensuring compliance with current regulations.
• Raising transport documentation including Air Waybills (AWBs), Bills of Lading and other export documentation.
• Liaising with customers, hauliers, shipping lines, airlines and overseas partners.
• Monitoring shipments and providing customers with regular updates.
• Ensuring all files are completed accurately and invoiced promptly.
• Maintaining excellent customer relationships and delivering a high standard of service.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A minimum of-2 years'' experience-within the freight forwarding industry.
• Experience handling-air, sea and road export shipments.
• Customs clearance knowledge and practical experience.
• Experience producing customer quotations.
• Confidence preparing Air Waybills (AWBs), Bills of Lading and associated export documentation.
• The ability to manage shipments independently from quotation through to final delivery.
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and freight forwarding software.
