Estates Surveyor
Thurrock Council are seeking an MRICS-qualified Surveyor required to support the Property Team in managing a mixed commercial estate. The role will focus on Landlord and Tenant matters, including negotiating rent reviews, lease renewals, and implementing new lease agreements. Acting as the key contact for tenants, the successful candidate will work closely with finance and legal teams to ensure lease transactions and rental payments are accurately processed and reflected in financial systems. The role also requires regular reporting on lease events, budget monitoring, income forecasting, and performance against financial targets. Strong commercial property management, stakeholder engagement, and financial reporting experience are essential. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary point of contact for tenants across the Council''s mixed commercial estate. Lead on Landlord and Tenant matters, including: Rent reviews Lease renewals Lease re-gears and negotiations Implementation of new lease agreements Build and maintain positive relationships with tenants, ensuring effective estate management and high levels of engagement. Work closely with legal teams to progress lease documentation and complete transactions in a timely manner. Liaise with finance colleagues to ensure rental income, service charges, and other payments are accurately recorded and reflected within financial and budget monitoring systems.
