Environmental Health Officer/Food Safety Officer

Overview

Sharper Consulting Services is seeking a competent and experienced Food Safety Officer to join our London client''s Public Protection team on an interim basis. The role focuses on delivering statutory food hygiene functions during a period of organisational transition, requiring an officer who can hit the ground running.Responsibilities

Carry out programmed food hygiene inspections in accordance with the Food Law Code of Practice (risk categories A-E).Respond to service requests, including complaints about food premises, hygiene standards, and alleged food poisoning.Undertake enforcement activity, including the service of notices, closures, and evidence gathering for legal proceedings where appropriate.Provide clear advice and guidance to businesses and stakeholders to support legal compliance.Input into the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (FHRS), including revisits and appeals.Liaise effectively with internal departments and external agencies.Requirements

Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health.EHRB Certificate or equivalent FLCOP-compliant competency to undertake food hygiene inspections.Up-to-date CPD and inspection competency logs.Strong understanding of food law, enforcement protocols, and local authority procedures.Ability to work autonomously and manage workload ..... full job details .....
