This is a full-time, permanent role with hybrid working, and a salary of £37,526 - £48,446 per annum.

to join our residential environmental health team.

The Role

Reporting to the Principal Environmental Health Officer, but managing your own case load, you will undertake a wide variety of regulatory interventions to tackle poor housing conditions and improve public health in the borough.

Your Role Will Involve

Inspecting and assessing housing conditions using the Housing Health and Safety Rating SystemUndertaking enforcement action against criminal landlords using legal notices, orders, prosecution and civil financial penaltiesDetermining licence applications for houses in multiple occupation and enforcing compliance with licence conditions and other regulatory requirementsRegulating Caravan Sites through Mobile Home Site LicensingResponding to unauthorised encampments

What We Are Looking For

Experience in an environmental health, regulatory or enforcement role.Experience in applying the Housing Health and Safety Rating System and taking enforcement action under the Housing Act 2004.Experience of licensing and enforcing in relation to HMOs and/or mobile home sites.Passion for improving public health and tackling health inequalities.
