Engineering Manager Production Network Engineering at Barclays. Lead the evolution of the digital landscape, drive innovation and excellence, and shape the team responsible for design, build and run of underlying strategic network infrastructure platforms and over-the-top connectivity products and services.Responsibilities

Lead engineering teams effectively, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture to achieve project goals and meet organizational objectives.Oversee timelines, team allocation, risk management and task prioritization to ensure successful delivery within scope, time, and budget.Mentor and support team members\'' professional growth, conduct performance reviews, provide actionable feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement.Evaluate and enhance engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency, streamline workflows, and optimize team productivity.Collaborate with business partners, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure a cohesive approach to product development.Enforce technology standards, facilitate peer reviews, and implement robust testing practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.Key Skills and Qualifications

Extensive experience as an individual contributor and leader of teams that design, build and operate network products across all 7 layers of the OSI stack. Specialist understanding of Layer 1-4 protocols (e.g., G.9802.1/WDM, Ethernet, VXLAN, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS), access transport (PON, xDSL, DOCSIS, FWA), wireless standards (Wi-Fi, LTE, 5G), MEF standards (CE.3.0, LSO), Overlay IP/VPN (RFC2547bis, RFC7432, RFC8365/RFC9746), SDN and network instrumentation (gNMI/gRPC, Y.1731, Y.1564, TWAMP).Experience with virtual infrastructure ecosystems (OpenStack, Kubernetes, QEMU, KVM, HCI) across Cloud Platforms (Public/Private/Hybrid) and uCPE platforms, including routing daemons (FRR, Bird, GoBGP), ONF stack, Linux networking (eBPF, VPP, AF_XDP), DENT, SONiC or Cumulus.Experience in network programming/automation, IaC, configuration management tools and data modelling (RESTCONF, NETCONF/YANG, Python, Ansible, SaltStack, Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM); demonstrated DevOps, Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.Additional Skills

Experience in network and infrastructure operational product engineering; knowledge of element management, SDN controllers, ETIS MANO; strong understanding of application layer protocols (HTTP/HTTPS, TLS/SSL, DNS, DHCP).Experience in Network Access Control (NAC) and RADIUS-based AAA for secure automated access; familiarity with zero trust networking concepts.Lifecycle management of network products and services: requirements analysis, platform selection, architecture design, service design and development, testing and deployment at scale; proficiency in Agile methodologies, backlog/workflow management and SRE reporting (MTTR, deployment frequency, SLO).All colleagues will be expected to demonstrate Barclays Values of Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence and Stewardship, and the Barclays Mindset to Empower, Challenge and Drive.Details
