This Engineering Geologist (Design) role offers genuine hands-on technical work across rock and soil slope stability, blasting design, numerical modelling and remedial engineering, working on some of the most complex and high profile ground engineering projects in the UK and overseas.THE ROLE - ENGINEERING GEOLOGIST (DESIGN)As Engineering Geologist (Design) you will work across the full project lifecycle, from site characterisation and geohazard assessment through to detailed design and construction support, working closely with the geotechnical design FEM team on numerical modelling for complex schemes. This is not a desk-based feasibility role. You will be involved in:Rock and soil slope stability assessment and design of remedial worksBlasting and excavation design for rock cuttingsRock mass classification using RSHI and the NGI Q-systemNumerical modelling (Plaxis, finite element and limit equilibrium analysis) for slope and foundation designGeohazard and landslide risk assessment using LiDAR and satellite terrain dataDesign of remedial measures including rock dowelling, sprayed concrete, soil nailing and nettingSite supervision and technical direction during constructionRECENT PROJECTSEmergency embankment stabilisation for Network Rail following major landslidesEngineering geological assessment on Ascension Island, covering ..... full job details .....
