The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Mobile Engineer - Plumbing Maintenance to join our client''s facilities management team, covering a portfolio of commercial, public sector, educational and heritage sites across London.

The role will involve carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, compliance checks and minor installation works across commercial plumbing and mechanical building services.

You will be responsible for maintaining domestic hot and cold-water systems, boosted water supplies and associated plant, while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant regulations and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and minor plumbing installations.
• Diagnose and repair booster pumps, pressurisation units, expansion vessels, circulation pumps, domestic hot water systems, drainage and TMVs.
• Carry out water hygiene tasks, including temperature monitoring, outlet flushing, calorifier inspections and TMV fail-safe testing.
• Maintain accurate water hygiene and compliance records in accordance with ACoP L8 and HSG274.
• Complete work in accordance with RAMS, Permit to Work procedures and health & safety requirements.
• Complete digital service reports and close work orders using mobile/tablet-based CAFM systems.
• Liaise with the Helpdesk and scheduling teams to meet contractual KPIs and SLAs.
• Identify additional remedial works and system upgrades where required.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment and PPE to a high standard.
• Communicate professionally with clients and other site personnel.
• Supervise or escort specialist subcontractors when required.
• Participate in an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota.

Essential Requirements

• NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds equivalent in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering Services.
• Full UK manual driving licence with a clean or minimal points history.
• Proven experience in commercial facilities maintenance, building services or mobile engineering.
• Strong practical fault-finding and maintenance experience across commercial plumbing systems.
• Good working knowledge of the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations, BS 8558 and ACoP L8 / HSG274.
• Experience using digital CAFM systems such as Concept Evolution, Planon, Maximo or similar.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Desirable

• Legionella Control / ACoP L8 awareness.
• TMV servicing and maintenance certification.
• IOSH Working Safely, IPAF, PASMA, Working at Height or Manual Handling.
• 18th Edition Electrical or basic HVAC awareness.
• Experience working within historic buildings, museums, universities or listed/heritage properties.
