Electrical Shift Engineer – FM Service Provider
Location: Monument, London
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off – Days & Nights (7AM–7PM)
A fantastic opportunity to join a leading FM service provider, working within a commercial building in Monument. Skilled Careers is recruiting for an Electrical Shift Engineer to deliver high standards of planned and reactive building services maintenance in a corporate, client-facing environment.
Role Overview:
You’ll be responsible for:
- Planned and reactive maintenance of electrical and HVAC systems.
- Ensuring compliance and operational efficiency across building services.
- Liaising with clients, service partners, and internal teams via phone and email.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build strong relationships with the client’s FM team for proactive collaboration.
- Monitor systems via BMS and alert platforms.
- Supervise and support site technicians, ensuring timely and compliant PPM/reactive works.
- Operate building systems effectively and efficiently.
- Provide input for reports and suggest operational improvements to reduce energy consumption.
- Escalate issues appropriately and manage incidents with proper documentation.
- Maintain accurate shift logs and handover reports.
- Ensure all asset and operational issues are recorded to meet KPIs and SLAs.
- Develop a deep understanding of building layout and systems through training and scenario drills.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of site operations using BMS and team coordination.
Essential Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
- City & Guilds 2382 – 18th Edition IEE Regulations.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial building maintenance.
- Strong technical knowledge of:
- HVAP systems
- AHUs
- BMS
- Air conditioning
- Water systems (cold, heating, treatment)
- UPS and emergency generators
- Excellent communication and computer skills.
