Electrical Control & Instrumentation Engineer

A great opportunity has become available for an Electrical Controls and Instrumentation Engineer to join a well-established Electrical Company based in Aberdeen on a 10month basis. You will be providing a professional engineering service within the established engineering team ensuring the team delivers high quality, reliable products to the Oil and Gas industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• The specification, design, & documentation of systems & components.
• The specification, design & documentation of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• The specification, selection & procurement of Materials & Services.
• To produce Bills of Material.
• Electrical interface design including cable schedules, termination details and cable layout diagrams.
• Instrumentation on selection loop diagrams, PLC / SCADA I/O list, instrumentation on index, logic diagrams and panel design.
• To be able to perform electrical calculations.
• At all times to be conscious of material & labour costs.
• To liaise with Clients, suppliers & peers during normal day-to-day activities.
• To oversee Junior Engineers & Technicians during design, manufacturing & testing activities.
• Be proficient in the use of CAD packages to produce detailed design drawings.

• Experience in an Engineering discipline, ideally in the Oil & Gas Industry.
• Ability to understand the commercial needs of a project.
• Ability to juggle more than more than one project.
• Ability to communicate confidently with clients.
• Experience of effective communication with other departments.
• Able to follow QA processes and procedures.
• Problem solving skills.
