We are looking for qualified and HCPC registered Educational Psychologists or Year 3 Trainee Educational Psychologists to join our thriving, progressive psychology service that puts children, families and communities first. The Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea Educational Psychology Consultation Service (WKC EPCS) is a visionary educational psychology service based at Kensington Town Hall in Central London. Benefitting from the experience of over 25 Educational Psychologists, trainees and support staff, we celebrate the rich variety of experience, expertise and approaches that exist within our team, and we have a strong history of embedding practice within our Consultation Practice Framework. What you will be doing
As a Main grade Educational and Child Psychologist, you will be working under the direction and support of the Bi-borough Co-Principal Educational Psychologists and Senior Educational Psychologists. We are a traded service and will offer a balance of different types of work within your role as well as various secondment opportunities. We will provide ongoing training and development opportunities (plus our full support to maintain your research interests), peer support and reflective supervision and we also have a number of specialist interest and working groups to support our practice (such as Culturally Inclusive Practice, Exploring and Understanding Gender, Community Psychology, Use of AI in education and EBSNA) as well as strong university links.Educational Psychologists (EPs) in WKC EPCS provide a high quality applied educational psychology consultation service across a range of educational, community and care settings (including early years, primary, secondary, post-16, Virtual School and Youth Justice Service) working collaboratively with a wide range of practitioners, parents/carers and children, young people and adults to contribute to positive outcomes for children and young people (CYP).Our EPs work systemically at an individual, group and organisational level to improve the learning, achievement, social-emotional development and wider well-being/mental health of children and young people up to the age of 25 years utilising evidence-based psychological knowledge, understanding and skills through the means of consultation, assessment, research, interventions and training.As a team, we are focused on keeping pace with the needs of our local community. What you will bring
You will need a doctoral-level qualification (or equivalent) in educational and child psychology and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). We will also welcome applications for Educational Psychologists in Training who are currently in their third year of training.You will have a commitment to delivering psychology within the local authority context using consultation as a model of service delivery. We\''re looking for someone with strong communication and organisational skills who is calm under pressure and confident managing a varied workload. You will be committed to making a difference to the achievement and wellbeing of children and young people, plus their families and schools. Specifically, you will be committed to providing opportunities for children and families from a range of communities and backgrounds. You will bring curiosity, flexibility and a willingness to keep learning as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
