Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP)

OverviewWe are recruiting for a
Qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP)
to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people. This role spans both educational settings and healthcare sectors across North Tees. You will be based with the Mental Health Support Team (MHST) within Alliance Psychology. The team is located in Stockton and provides mental health support across a range of educational settings in the Hartlepool and Stockton local authority areas. The role will be subject to an enhanced DBS check with barring.
Responsibilities
Deliver mental health interventions on a one-to-one and group basis.
Deliver whole-school approaches to embed strategies to promote and support mental health and wellbeing.
Build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders, particularly within educational settings, and work as part of the MHST.

Pay: £28,500 to £31,139 per year, dependant on experience
Contract: Permanent

QualificationsEssential
Qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner
Experience of working within Mental Health Support Teams for schools, either as a trainee or qualified EMHP
Experience of working with children and young people, their families and others; experience liaising with a wide variety of agencies and stakeholders
Desirable
Experience of working with children and their families in a healthcare setting
Experience of working with children and their families in an education setting
Delivery of group interventions for children and young people
Personal Qualities and Specialist Attributes
Self-motivated
Able to travel to meet the requirements of the post
Team player
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Able to meet the physical requirements of the role after reasonable adjustments have been made for any illness or disability
Full, enhanced and current satisfactory DBS disclosure for the role
Ability to personally manage a sensitive, traumatic and potentially emotionally distressing caseload
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Specialist Experience
Experience of working with children and young people who have social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties
Experience of working with anxiety disorders
Experience of working with affective (mood) disorders
Experience of the delivery of specific therapeutic interventions to children, young people or their families (e.g. CBT, solution-focused brief therapy)
