Ecologist - Exeter
An established environmental consultancy are looking for an Ecologist to join its growing team in Exeter. The role involves contributing to a range of ecological survey and assessment work across the South West and further afield.
The company provides ecological and environmental services for a wide range of clients, including developers, planning consultants, and public sector organisations. The Exeter team works on projects of varying scale, primarily in the South West.

Main Responsibilities:
Carrying out field surveys including habitat and protected species work
Writing reports such as Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments, and species-specific mitigation plans
Supporting with data analysis and mapping
Liaising with clients and statutory bodies where appropriate
Assisting with project delivery under guidance from senior team members
Contributing to internal quality control and mentoring of junior staff where needed
Requirements:
Degree in ecology or related subject
At least 2 years of experience in ecological consultancy
Practical knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and relevant planning policy
Experience conducting a range of ecological surveys
Competent in ecological reporting and data handling
Full UK driving licence
Membership of CIEEM (or working towards it)
A protected species licence (e.g. bats or GCN) is desirable but not essential
