Our client is now urgently looking for an Ecologist to join their highways & rail-team in Belfast-on a 3-month contract (inside IR35). There is a chance this could be extended. You''l be expected to work in the office 1 day per week and work on site as and when required. A vehicle can be provided for site work.
Supporting the Department for Infrastructure, you''ll be-focused-on highway-related ecological surveys and will therefore need some previous experience in a similar role.
Principal responsibilities:
- Lead and conduct ecological surveys, mainly on highways and rail-related projects.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, especially regarding protected species.
- Review and write high-quality ecological reports.
- Collaborate with generalist and landscape colleagues to support programme delivery.
Key skills/experience required:
- A minimum of 3 years of-ecological experience.
- Strong understanding of UK and NI wildlife legislation.
- Proven ability to lead surveys and produce technical reports.
Qualifications:
- PTS highly desirable
- Full UK driving license
