Ecologist - Highways and RailLocation: Belfast, Northern IrelandContract: 3-month initial (potential extension)Rate: Up to 45/hrHours: 40 hours/week (flexible working considered) We are recruiting an experienced Ecologist to support the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) in Northern Ireland with ecological surveys for highways and rail projects. This role involves both field surveys and report preparation, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.Key Responsibilities:Lead and conduct ecological surveys across highways and rail schemes.Ensure compliance with UK and NI wildlife legislation.Produce and review ecological reports.Collaborate effectively with project teams.Make independent decisions on site and in the office.Requirements:3-4 years relevant ecological experience.Strong knowledge of UK and NI wildlife legislation.Proven ability to lead surveys and produce technical reports.PTS certification is highly desirable.Full UK driving licence (vehicle provided).Able to work independently.Additional Info:Belfast-based, with 1 day/week in the office plus site visits as required.Travel across Northern Ireland expected.Flexible working arrangements available.
