Earthworks Supervisor 

Our client, a leading civil engineering contractor, is seeking an experienced Earthworks Supervisor to join their team on a major highway infrastructure scheme.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day earthworks and groundworks activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme.
• Oversee excavation, cut and fill, embankments, grading, compaction, formation works, and associated civils.
• Lead site teams, plant operators, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Ensure works comply with drawings, specifications, RAMS, permits, and project requirements.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials, and site access to maintain productivity.
• Monitor quality, progress, levels, tolerances, and earthworks testing.
• Work closely with the Site Manager, Engineers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Promote a strong health, safety, environmental, and quality culture.
• Complete site records, inspections, briefings, and toolbox talks.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Earthworks Supervisor, Groundworks Supervisor, Earthworks Foreman, or similar.
• Strong experience in earthworks and civil engineering projects, ideally on highway or infrastructure schemes.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and RAMS.
• Experience managing site teams and subcontractors.
• Good understanding of health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
• Valid CSCS required.
• SMSTS or SSSTS required.
• First Aid qualification required.
• Previous experience working on highway schemes is highly desirable.
• NRSWA, Temporary Works, or other relevant highway qualifications would be advantageous.
