Domestic Abuse Support Worker - Thriving Families
The role This role will work collaboratively within Manchester City Council''s multi-disciplinary Thriving Families Team to support adult victims/survivors of domestic abuse within families where there are safeguarding concerns. The Domestic Abuse Support Worker will provide trauma-informed, strengths based and needs led support to help victims/survivors increase safety, reduce risk and improve their emotional wellbeing. Through one-to-one tailored interventions, the role will empower victims/survivors to make informed choices, rebuild confidence and access specialist support services. The Domestic Abuse Support Worker will work collaboratively with the Domestic Abuse Prevention Worker and partner agencies, ensuring a coordinated, multi-agency, whole-family approach. They will complete comprehensive risk and needs assessments, develop and regularly review individual safety and support plans, provide advocacy, attend multi-agency meetings and ensure the voice of the victim/survivor informs risk management and safety planning. About you You''ll be confident in delivering direct work with adult victims/survivors of domestic abuse. This will include completing comprehensive risk and needs assessments to develop tailored safety and support plans, alongside providing practical and emotional support that promotes recovery, resilience and increased safety.
