My client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled DNS Architect to design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance Domain Name System (DNS) solutions. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of network naming services across enterprise and cloud environments.
The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in DNS technologies with strong architectural, troubleshooting, and automation capabilities.
Your New Role
- DNS Architect on a 4-month contract (likely extension), -563581 per day
- Design and develop scalable DNS architectures across enterprise and cloud platforms
- Manage and optimise DNS platforms (BIND, Microsoft DNS, Infoblox, AWS Route 53, Azure DNS)
- Lead DNS strategy including scalability, high availability, and performance optimisation
- Oversee DNS migrations, upgrades, and transformations
- Implement and maintain DNS security (DNSSEC, DDoS protection, threat mitigation)
- Monitor performance, availability, and ensure robust incident response processes
- Act as escalation point for complex DNS/network issues and lead root cause analysis
- Drive automation using scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and Infrastructure as Code
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and best practices
What You''ll Need to Succeed
- Active SC Clearance (essential)
- Expert knowledge of DNS protocols (recursion, caching, TCP/UDP, zone transfers)
- Strong experience with DNS platforms (BIND, Windows DNS, Infoblox) and cloud DNS services
- Knowledge of DNS security, including DNSSEC and DDoS mitigation techniques
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, load balancing)
- Experience with automation and scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation)
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation abilities
- High attention to detail and ability to work across technical teams
