Director of Public Health - Grays - Job - iPeople SC Solutions Limited

iPeople SC Solutions is currently recruiting for the Director of Public Health position for our client based in Grays and surrounding areas.The successful postholder will lead a team within the local authority responsible for the development of a strategic needs assessment for the local population.Duties and Responsibilities

Developing healthy, sustainable and cohesive communities through the Health and Wellbeing Board and the wider Council and partnersDeveloping healthy lifestyle programmes for individuals and communitiesTackling specific issues based on local needs assessment, such as childhood obesity, smokingDeveloping strategies to reduce health inequalities.Advise and support the Director’s Board members, Cabinet and portfolio holders in shaping servicesDevelop effective relationships with residents and ensure that the services provided reflect their needsInfluence and steer the planning of servicesPrepare, manage and monitor the service’s budgetEnsure effective leadership, motivation and development of the service’s staffRegularly review resources, services and partnership arrangements in order to identify opportunities to improve service deliveryTake a lead role in furthering the Council’s commitment to promote diversity and oppose discrimination in the provision of services and as an employerEnsure full compliance with all legislative and statutory requirements, including Health and Safety at Work and the local policy framework.Producing an independent annual report on the health of the population, progress on improving health and reducing inequalities and making recommendationsBeing principal adviser to Health and Wellbeing Board in developing a Health and Wellbeing Strategy based on the assessed needs of the population and proven interventions to improve healthProviding specialist public health advice to commissioners on priorities for health and social care spending and the appropriate configuration of services within and between local authoritiesSupporting Local Resilience Forum in developing comprehensive multi-agency plans for the anticipated threats to public healthManage 6 staff and be responsible for full line management responsibilities.Requirements

A recognised professional qualification in public healthSignificant relevant experience in a senior management position with a record of measurable successHolder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)Inclusion in the GMC Full and Specialist Register with a license to practice /GDC Specialist List/UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) for Public Health SpecialistsStrategic thinker with proven leadership skillsWorking Hours : 37 hours per week, Mon – FriIf you wish to apply for this job opportunity and have previous experience, please apply with your updated CV.Apply for this position
