Director of Engineering

Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be supporting a world leading manufacturer in their search for an Engineering Director to establish and deliver the overall engineering and maintenance strategy for their Herefordshire based plant.The operation is a major UK production facility for the Group and the Engineering Director will have total accountability for the plant''s engineering strategy, including staffing, equipment, budgets, facilities, maintenance, capabilities and skillsets to ensure the plant is able to deliver its targets, including safety, quality, throughput and cost.Responsibilities

Responsible for achieving the agreed levels of overall plant availability and performance (OEE)Deliver cultural change within the Engineering function at all levels to align with Plant Goals and support daily, weekly and monthly targetsImplement a structure within Engineering that meets the needs of the Plant and review regularlyCollaborate with the General Manager and Senior Leadership Team to produce and deliver a Capital Expenditure Plan that meets strategic requirements on time and in budgetAgree and establish a set of Key Performance Indicators to monitor and review the engineering function''s performance and efficiencyDeliver measurable improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of the Engineering teamEnsure Planned Predictive Maintenance (PPM) schedules are achievedIn conjunction with PPM, be responsible for Condition Monitoring to reduce costs from secondary damage and unnecessary maintenance and increase machine availabilityExperience and Qualifications

Extensive experience of overall responsibility for an Engineering function within a heavy/capital-intensive industryExperience of budgetary responsibility of £2m+Has held full functional responsibility for engineering within a relevant business/industryDevelopment and delivery of a comprehensive maintenance plan (TPM)Strong practical engineering understandingEvidence of creativity and success in seeking improvements in performance and operational methodsManagement and delivery of capital projects £4-8 million per yearBenefits and opportunities
