The Director of Cyber Defense and Operations will lead the development and execution of enterprise information security strategies and operations, ensuring the protection of information assets from threats and vulnerabilities. This role collaborates with stakeholders to raise awareness, communicate risks and compliance issues, and propose effective solutions to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data across the organization. The role also involves securing necessary funding and building a strong business case for security initiatives.Location and Work Arrangement

Responsibilities include:Drive the development and preparation of the Enterprise Information Risk and Security Strategy.Oversee the delivery of enterprise technology initiatives to ensure completion within budget, timescale, and quality.Lead security incidents, manage investigations, and coordinate effective responses.Build and maintain strong relationships with business users and teams to ensure service delivery meets expectations.Provide information security project consultancy and coordinate security and risk requirements.Oversee the SOC to ensure efficient detection, analysis, and response to cybersecurity incidents.Implement and manage data protection strategies to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss of sensitive information.Manage vendor relationships to meet SLAs and track KPIs.Undertake regular vulnerability assessments across QBE’s business and third-party providers.Maintain and continuously improve data protection strategies to safeguard sensitive information.Required Qualifications
Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with security and risk-based standards such as ISO27001, ISO31000, NIST800, and PCI-DSS.Previous information security experience in a similar role.Regional experience required; global experience preferred.Experience working with outsourced service partners.Why QBE? At My Best
