Commercial Fit-Out Designer
Salary: Up to £55,000 + benefits

We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Fit-Out Designer to join an established and growing fit-out contractor delivering high-quality commercial interiors across a range of sectors.

The business operates across both traditional contracting and design & build, working closely with clients, consultants and contractors to deliver projects from concept and design development through to completion.
This is an excellent opportunity for a designer with a strong understanding of the commercial fit-out environment who wants to play a key role in developing practical, buildable and visually strong interior solutions.

The Role
As Commercial Fit-Out Designer, you’ll be involved throughout the design process, working alongside the wider pre-construction and project teams to develop schemes that meet the client''s brief, budget and programme.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing design concepts and detailed proposals for commercial fit-out projects
• Producing detailed drawings, layouts, specifications and presentation materials
• Working with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to develop design solutions
• Supporting projects across both traditional and design & build procurement routes
• Ensuring designs are practical, buildable and commercially viable
• Reviewing and coordinating architectural, MEP and specialist subcontractor information
• Assisting with design development from initial concept through to construction
• Attending client and design meetings where required
• Supporting the estimating and pre-construction teams with design information
• Ensuring designs comply with relevant building regulations, standards and project requirements
• Coordinating design changes and resolving technical issues throughout the project lifecycle

About You
We’re looking for someone with proven experience in commercial interiors or fit-out, ideally within a contractor, fit-out specialist, architectural practice or design & build environment.
You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience designing commercial fit-out projects
• A strong understanding of construction and how designs translate into the built environment
• Experience working within a design & build and/or traditional contracting environment
• Strong technical drawing and design skills
• Good knowledge of materials, finishes and construction methods
• Experience with relevant design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp or similar
• The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with clients and project teams
• A practical, commercially minded approach to design
• Good attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, coordinated information
