Data Engineering Manager

Data LeadCIRCA £80,000 DOEManchester- 1 day per weekThe Data Lead will build and lead the organisations data engineering capability, ensuring a scalable, cost-effective platform that supports the company’s ambition to be data-led. Initially, the role will focus on transforming the existing data warehouse into a GCP based analytics platform, integrating system and client APIs, and preparing for AI/ML adoption.Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to optimise data usage.Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise data infrastructure for performance and cost.Ensure data security, compliance, and proper documentation.Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.Role Requirements

Strong SQL skills and experience with database management systems.Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala.Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP Preferred).Experience with API development, CI/CD, and workflow management tools.Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.Reporting and Working StyleReports to the Head of Data and Analytics.Hybrid role with remote work and occasional UK site visits (2-3 days per week).Responsible for delivering a strategic data roadmap and ensuring smooth IT integration.Robert Walters Operations Limited is an employment business and employment agency and welcomes applications from all candidates.About the job
