Customer Service Transport Operator - Tamworth - Up to -35,000

We are seeking a highly organised and customer-focused Customer Service Transport Operator to join our client''s busy transport team based in . The successful candidate will be responsible for managing customer transport volumes on a daily basis, coordinating with internal departments, and ensuring exceptional service delivery to our customers.

Working within a fast-paced transport environment, you will act as a key point of contact between customers and operational teams, helping to resolve issues efficiently while maintaining strong customer relationships.



Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage customers'' daily transport volumes, ensuring all requirements are planned and communicated effectively.
  • Liaise with Maritime operational and transport teams to resolve any service issues or operational challenges.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, providing a high standard of customer service at all times.
  • Monitor transport movements and proactively communicate updates to customers.
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries, concerns, and service issues promptly.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of transport management systems.
  • Produce and update reports using Microsoft Excel and other IT systems.
  • Support the wider transport operation to ensure service levels and customer expectations are consistently achieved.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a successful and dynamic team environment.


Skills & Experience Required



Essential

  • Previous experience within the transport, logistics, or haulage industry.
  • Strong understanding of transport operations and customer service requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience dealing directly with customers in a professional environment.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Good problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Comfortable working with transport management and IT systems.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.


Desirable

  • Previous experience in a transport planning, customer service, or logistics coordination role.
  • Knowledge of container logistics and maritime transport operations.
  • Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS).
