A well-established and growing business is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of the full credit control function and is looking for a role with genuine responsibility and autonomy.
Reporting into the finance team, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end credit control process across two company ledgers, maintaining strong customer relationships and ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts. The business operates a healthy and well-maintained ledger, making this an ideal role for a proactive credit professional who values building relationships rather than constantly firefighting overdue debt.
Your new role

• Managing the full credit control function for two company ledgers
• Monitoring and maintaining approximately 150 customer accounts
• Chasing outstanding payments via phone, email and written correspondence
• Building strong working relationships with customers to ensure prompt payment
• Allocating incoming cash and reconciling customer accounts
• Resolving invoice and payment queries in a timely manner
• Producing aged debt reports and monitoring debtor performance
• Reviewing customer credit limits and assessing risk where required
• Working closely with internal departments to resolve account issues
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all customer information is up to date
• Supporting month-end processes and reporting requirements

What you''ll need to succeed

• Previous experience within a credit control position
• Confident managing accounts and collections independently
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to prioritise workload and work autonomously
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills
• Experience using accounting systems, ideally Sage 200
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and the wider Microsoft Office suite
