Job Role: Cover Tutor Functional Skills Maths and English Location: HMP Brixton Salary: From £30,000 per annum + £5,000 London Weighting Contract: Permanent, full-time Role Overview We are recruiting an enthusiastic and adaptable Cover Tutor Functional Skills Maths and English to deliver high-quality education within a custodial environment at HMP Brixton. As a Cover Tutor, you will support learners to develop essential literacy and numeracy skills through the delivery of City and Guilds Functional Skills qualifications from Entry Level 1 to Level 2. Working with small groups of learners, you will help individuals build confidence, achieve qualifications and develop the skills needed to progress into employment, further learning and successful rehabilitation. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator who enjoys working with diverse learners and can create engaging, inclusive learning experiences that inspire positive outcomes. Key Responsibilities Teaching, Learning and Delivery Deliver Functional Skills Maths and/or English qualifications from Entry Level 1 to Level 2 Plan and deliver engaging, learner-focused lessons that promote achievement and progression Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs and abilities Create a positive, inclusive and motivating learning environment Use a variety of teaching methods and digital resources to maximise learner engagement Promote confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours ..... full job details .....
