Council Tax Advisor

Are you an experienced Council Tax professional looking to make a real difference within a busy local authority? We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Council Tax Advisor to join a dedicated Revenues team in North London. In this role, you''ll be responsible for administering Council Tax, Business Rates and BID Levy accounts, ensuring accurate billing, processing discounts and exemptions, and taking appropriate recovery action in line with current legislation and council procedures. You''ll provide high-quality advice and support to residents, businesses and internal stakeholders, helping to resolve complex enquiries while delivering excellent customer service. You''ll also investigate entitlement to reliefs, contribute to fraud prevention, and support enforcement processes, including preparing cases for court and attending liability order hearings where required. Working within a fast-paced environment, you''ll manage your own caseload while maintaining accuracy and meeting performance targets. We''re looking for someone with previous experience in Council Tax or Revenues, a strong understanding of relevant legislation, excellent communication skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a customer-focused environment.
