We are seeking an experienced Contract Payroll Manager to lead our payroll team and ensure that all contractors are paid accurately and on time. This is a key leadership role where youandrsquo;ll be responsible for managing end-to-end contract payroll processes, ensuring compliance with legislation, and driving continuous improvements across the department.

Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, youandrsquo;ll work closely with senior management, branch teams, and external providers, acting as a subject matter expert for payroll matters. Youandrsquo;ll also play a vital role in staff development, ensuring your team has the knowledge, training, and support to deliver an efficient, compliant, and high-quality payroll service.

Key Responsibilities

andmiddot; Lead and manage the Contract Payroll Team, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all payroll processes.

andmiddot; Oversee payroll operations including Bacs payments, pensions, CIS submissions, and year-end processes.

andmiddot; Drive improvements and efficiencies in payroll systems and processes, working with system providers and senior management.

andmiddot; Act as the point of contact for payroll queries, liaising with Directors, Managers, HMRC, and pension providers.

andmiddot; Train, develop, and support staff, conducting regular reviews, appraisals, and team meetings.

About You

andnbsp;

andmiddot; Strong experience in payroll management, ideally within a contractor/temporary worker environment.

andmiddot; Excellent knowledge of payroll legislation, pensions, and HMRC requirements.

andmiddot; Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate a team.

andmiddot; Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

andmiddot; Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
