Consultant Psychiatrist

We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our healthcare teams at HMP Onley, a category C training prison, based in Rugby, Northamptonshire. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work with an experienced integrated mental health team, including another Consultant Psychiatrist and a Mental Health specialist ACP. Successful applicant will be familiar with adult mental health presentations, delivering medication reviews, hospital referrals and psychiatric support for complex historic trauma.Hours1 day per week. Can be worked Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday.SalaryThis position is part time, 8 hours per week. You’ll receive an annual salary up to £180,000 per annum FTE – depending on experience.How will we support you?

You will be part of a team of 15 plus experienced and supportive Consultant psychiatrists.You will be able to attend monthly Consultant’s meeting and 1:1 clinical supervision.Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course.Competency framework.Main duties / Responsibilities

Provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the case load onsite.Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervision.Work within the multi-disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi professional complex case reviews.If you are interested in career development, we have a wide range of opportunities for you to develop your skills and experience, including both internal and external options for development and learning.It doesnt stop there

Registered professional with current registration (GMC)Specialist Registration in General Adult or Forensic PsychiatryApproved under section 12 (2) of the MHS 1983Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency workingUp to date knowledge in adult psychiatry and PDAwareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislationSecure environments are challenging but rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work.
