Consultant Psychiatrist

Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our healthcare teams at HMP Onley, a category C training prison, based in Rugby, Northamptonshire. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work with an experienced integrated mental health team, including another Consultant Psychiatrist and a Mental Health specialist ACP. The successful applicant will be familiar with adult mental health presentations, delivering medication reviews, hospital referrals and providing psychiatric support for complex historic trauma. Hours: 1 day per week. The day can be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday.Responsibilities
Provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the caseload onsiteActively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervisionWork within the multidisciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi-professional complex case reviewsWe offer opportunities for career development, including internal and external options for development and learning. Registered professional with current GMC registrationSpecialist Registration in General Adult or Forensic PsychiatryApproved under section 12(2) of the MHS 1983Understanding of the complexities of multidisciplinary and multi-agency workingUp-to-date knowledge in adult psychiatry and PDAwareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislationSecure environments are challenging and rewarding places for healthcare professionals.
