Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon
with a specialist interest in
Upper Limb or Shoulder and Elbow surgery
to join our award-winning team at Practice Plus Group Surgical Centre, Shepton Mallet.In this role, you’ll work in a purpose-built, modern surgical centre rated Good the CQC and known for exceptional clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction. substantive employment only.What you''ll be doingAs our Orthopaedic Surgeon, you will be:Performing a broad range of upper limb procedures, including:Arthroscopic and open shoulder surgery (e.g., tendon repairs, stabilisations, decompressions)Arthroscopic and open elbow surgeryShoulder replacement surgeryDupuytren’s contracture releaseTrapeziectomy and minor hand procedures (e.g., carpal tunnel release)Providing preoperative assessment, intraoperative care, and postoperative follow-up for patientsEnsuring all treatments meet the highest standards of safety and clinical effectivenessWorking collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to develop and improve clinical pathwaysContributing to audit, research, and the ongoing development of the serviceParticipating in appraisal, revalidation, and continuing professional development activitiesTaking part in on-call rota cover (with first-line provided by Resident Medical Officers)Supporting the training and supervision of junior clinical staff
What we’ll look for in youWith your GMC Specialist Registration in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery, you will also have:
