Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

to join our dedicated team at the Shepton Mallet NHS Treatment Centre. This role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality elective orthopaedic care in a modern, purpose-built hospital rated Good by the CQC and known for outstanding patient outcomes.Youll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering specialist care, with a particular focus on joint replacements (hip and knee), arthroscopic knee surgery, and a variety of minor orthopaedic procedures. With first-line cover provided by RMOs, the on-call responsibility is minimal and shared on a rota with orthopaedic colleagues.Main duties of the job

As our Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, you will be:Perform a wide range of elective orthopaedic procedures, including:Primary hip and knee replacementsKnee arthroscopy and carpal tunnel releaseJoint injections and aspirationsAdditional minor procedures based on your expertiseDeliver exceptional care across the patient pathway preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperativeCollaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient careSupport and supervise junior clinical staffParticipate in audit, clinical governance, service improvement, and teachingEngage in continuing professional development and actively contribute to departmental meetings and strategic planningAbout us
