Pre-Construction Manager - Slough (Office) - Bristol (Site)

We are working on behalf of a leading international specialist contractor is seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join its growing UK team.

The business delivers complex structural projects across the UK and Europe, combining engineering excellence, innovative construction methods and modern sustainable design solutions. With a strong reputation in off-site manufacturing and turnkey project delivery, this is an exciting opportunity to join a market-leading organisation operating within a niche and highly respected sector.

The Role

Working as a key link between project planning and operational delivery, you will take responsibility for coordinating the pre-construction process from procurement through to site mobilisation.

You''ll work closely with project management, manufacturing teams, suppliers and subcontractors across the UK and Europe, ensuring projects are effectively planned and resourced before construction begins.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the procurement and subcontract tendering process.
  • Reviewing and obtaining all required subcontractor documentation, including insurances, accreditations and compliance records.
  • Coordinating suppliers, manufacturing schedules and subcontractor resources.
  • Supporting production planning and installation sequencing.
  • Managing transportation logistics and delivery programmes, including overseas suppliers where required.
  • Acting as a technical point of contact for materials, specifications, fabrication and quality requirements.
  • Liaising with commercial and finance teams regarding measurements, valuations and invoicing.
  • Coordinating multiple stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery from pre-construction to site execution.

About You

We''re keen to speak with candidates who have a technical engineering background and experience working within construction, structural engineering, steelwork, manufacturing or specialist contracting environments.

Suitable candidates may currently hold positions such as:

  • Pre-Construction Manager
  • Design Manager
  • Project Engineer
  • Contracts Engineer
  • Structural Engineer
  • Civil Engineer
  • Technical Manager

Requirements

  • Degree or qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering, Steel/Metal Technology or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience within pre-construction, project engineering or technical project delivery.
  • Knowledge of structural steelwork, manufacturing, precast concrete, modular construction or specialist building systems.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and procurement processes.
  • Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Basic CAD knowledge would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
  • German language skills would be highly desirable but are not essential.
