Compliance Administrator at a Secondary School

A highly regarded secondary school in Gillingham are seeking a diligent and well-organised Compliance Administrator to join their administration team on a long-term to permanent basis. This role is perfect for an experienced school administrator with compliance experience, or a compliance officer from another sector seeking a rewarding role in education.
About the Role:
As the Compliance Administrator, youandrsquo;ll play a vital role in ensuring the school adheres to statutory and internal policies, safeguarding protocols, and regulatory documentation standards. Your ability to manage data, maintain accurate records, and uphold best practices will help support the smooth and safe operation of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain up-to-date compliance records in line with school, local authority, and DfE regulations.
- Ensure that staff vetting, safer recruitment, and safeguarding procedures are correctly documented and regularly audited.
- Support the Single Central Record (SCR) and ensure it remains compliant with Ofsted expectations.
- Monitor, update, and circulate school policies and ensure staff are aware of policy changes.
- Manage compliance-related communication with external agencies, governors, and senior leadership.
- Support data protection (GDPR) compliance and records management procedures.
- Assist with staff training records and maintain accurate logs of mandatory CPD and safeguarding certifications.
- Provide general administrative support where required, including preparing reports and updating internal systems.
Requirements:
- Experience working as a school administrator, or in a compliance role within any sector (education sector experience preferred).
- A strong understanding of compliance procedures, official documentation, and policy management.
- High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work to deadlines.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, GDPR, and/or safer recruitment practices (training can be provided).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other school/HR systems.
- A professional and proactive approach, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Legal right to work in the UK and an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
