Complex Needs Teaching Assistant

We are currently looking for compassionate, dedicated, and resilient Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join supportive SEN schools across the Wirral area.

Whether you are looking for flexible work to fit in alongside other commitments, or a long-term role to enhance your teaching experience in a SEN setting, we have a range of fantastic opportunities in both part time and full time roles.

In this rewarding role, you will be working closely with children and young adults who have complex needs, supporting them to access learning and reach their full potential. You might find yourself working on a dedicated 1:1 basis or supporting small groups within a nurturing classroom environment.

Every day brings new moments of inspiration as you help pupils build their confidence, independence, and life skills. As a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant, you will be confident and experienced in helping students achieve their potential.

In a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant we are looking for:

• Experience: Previous experience working within a classroom setting, particularly with children and young adults who have additional needs.

• Qualifications: A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is ideal, though we also love to hear from experienced candidates with a strong background in care or support work.

• Specialist Knowledge: A solid understanding of Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASD) and various learning difficulties.

• Key Skills: Knowledge of phonics and sign language (such as Makaton or BSL) is highly desirable and will be a wonderful asset in these roles.

• Personal Qualities: A warm, patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach, with a genuine passion for inclusive education.
