Salary : £43,614 – £50,374 per annum + share of on-call allowanceWhat you’ll be doingWe’re looking for an experienced and forward-thinking communications professional to support the delivery of the External Affairs strategy for the Speaker of the House of Commons. Based within the House of Commons Communications Office and closely aligned with the Office of the Speaker, this is an exciting opportunity to shape high-impact messaging and digital content that informs and inspires.As part of the House of Commons central communications team, you’ll play a key role in communicating the work of the House, strengthening international and interparliamentary relationships, and promoting parliamentary democracy.Due to the nature of the role, the expectation will be for the postholder to work from the parliamentary estate while the House is sitting. This equates to roughly 80 per cent of the week during sitting times.Benefits

A strong background in communications, with experience creating compelling, accurate copy for a range of channels and audiences.Hands-on experience managing social media in a high-profile or politically aware environment, with the creativity to reach diverse audiences.Exceptional organisation skills with the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure while collaborating effectively across teams.An interest in Parliament and political processes, with the ability to communicate complex topics clearly and impartially.Experience designing and delivering strategic social media campaigns with measurable impact.How to apply
