CNC Miller Programmer / Setter / Operator (Heidenhain)

Location: Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire
Salary: -30,000 - -45,000 per annum + Overtime

The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller Programmer / Setter /Operator to join a well-established precision engineering manufacturer supplying high-quality components to sectors including Aerospace, Defence, Medical, Energy and Rail.

Working within a busy machine shop, you will programme, set and operate 3 & 4-axis CNC milling machines using Heidenhain controls, producing precision components to tight tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

• Programme, set and operate 3 & 4-axis CNC milling machines using Heidenhain controls.
• Machine components from aluminium, stainless steel, alloy steel, Inconel and titanium.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Write and edit CNC programs.
• Change tooling and complete machine set-ups.
• Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment.
• Carry out routine machine maintenance.
• Work to strict quality and health & safety standards.

About You

• Previous experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines with Heidenhain controls.
• Able to manufacture precision components to tight tolerances.
• Experience producing batch work and complex one-off components.
• Competent using micrometers, verniers, gauges and other inspection equipment.
• Apprenticeship trained or able to demonstrate at least five years'' CNC machining experience.
• Good understanding of cutting speeds, feeds and geometric tolerances.
• ISO 9001 experience would be advantageous.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and within a team.
