CNC Setter Operator Miller

Base salary: £38,000 - 40,000 Shift Allowance 

Shift allowance: 16.6% – Monday to Friday – Earlies and Lates

Alternate 2 week shift pattern 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm - 39 Hours

Location: Birmingham

We are looking for an experienced CNC Setter / Operator / Miller to join a fast-paced precision engineering environment. You’ll set and run CNC machines to produce high-quality components to strict tolerances.

CNC Setter/ Operator Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC Milling machines efficiently
• The CNC Setter/ Operator will read engineering drawings and use Fanuc Controls
• Inspect parts using measuring equipment (CMM, micrometres, verniers)
• Monitor machine performance and report faults
• Support continuous improvement and quality standards

CNC Setter/ Operator Requirements

• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with CNC setting/operating experience – Any programming knowledge ideal
• Knowledge of multi-axis or 5-axis machining – Mazak & Matsuura Preferred
• The CNC Machinist - Setter/ Operator will need to have controls experience with FANUC (preferred) or Mazatrol
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings
• Ability to work independently and maintain high quality standards 
• High Variety Low Volume experience preferred
