The Ward Manager will lead the ward, manage resources, and promote a culture of learning and professionalism to ensure high standards of care.Responsibilities
Manages the ward and resources effectively, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and skill mix, including rota management, annual leave/training arrangements, and sickness/absence management.Ensures all members of the nursing team receive clinical supervision, appraisal, CPD requirements, and mandatory training.Identifies and addresses development needs, training, and performance issues.Recognises and rewards positive performance, commensurate with roles and responsibilities.Acts as a visible role model, mentor and leader, fostering learning, development, inquiry and professionalism, and sharing learning across the ward, hospital and wider division.Disseminates, implements, and monitors compliance with relevant policies and statutory requirements of the hospital, division, and group.Takes action to ensure that the standard of patient care is of the highest standard.Ensures all patients have clear current care plans that reflect personalised needs, are evidence-based, and that family members and carers are appropriately engaged as needed.Qualifications and Skills
Registered Mental Health Nurse with a current active NMC PIN.Experience within eating disorders desirable.Willingness to complete further clinical, managerial and leadership training relevant to ED and management/leadership.Competent computer skills.Staff rostering capability and knowledge.Experience of clinical audit and/or service improvement based on evidence desirable.Clear and positive communication style both verbally and non-verbally.Employment Details
Salary: GBP 50,375 – GBP 56,329 per annum DOE.Permanent, full-time role37.5 hours per weekBenefits
