Salary: The salary is based on the clinical veterinary assistant professor scale. Depending on the individual and their duties, the salary may attract an additional non-consolidated clinical supplement of up to 20%.
Role and responsibilities
Contribute to the development and delivery of year-5 clinical rotation teaching, and to the delivery and assessment of relevant subject teaching in the first 4 years of the course.
Assist in further developing the School''s programme of postgraduate training in clinical pathology.
Collaborate with university pathologists, clinicians, and clinical associate practices to provide support and guidance for on-site labs where available, and engage with diagnostic anatomic pathology service for cytology-histopathology corelates.
Engage in research collaboration with School activities and provide opportunities for investigations.
Maintain professional registration and demonstrate diagnostic and communication skills developed in academic or diagnostic service settings.
Requirements
Veterinary degree registrable with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
Postgraduate training in veterinary clinical pathology or equivalent experience.
Experience in academic or commercial diagnostic service environments.
About the role and environmentThe School operates a distributed clinical teaching model and does not have its own dedicated clinical pathology service laboratory; several clinical associate practices have onsite labs to support the role. Collaboration with the diagnostic anatomic pathology service is encouraged.
