The role
The Client Services Director (CSD) plays a pivotal role in the management of the agency. Reporting to the VP of Medical Communications, the CSD drives strategic account growth, financial performance and operational excellence in line with company vision and values. Key responsibilities include leading client relationships, optimising workflow and financial KPIs, overseeing business development efforts, and ensuring high standards of service delivery. The CSD also contributes to wider agency leadership, supports new business pitches, and mentors team members to ensure long-term success and talent development. With over 10 years of relevant experience, ideally in a full-service med comms agency, the role demands strong leadership, strategic thinking, financial acumen, and outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.
Requirements
10+ years ‘relevant'' experience preferably in a full-service medical communications agencyIdeally, a life sciences degree, preferably combined with a Master''s or PhD, or other relevant qualificationExcellent interpersonal / relationship development skills - able to influence colleagues and clients, and to actively listenStrong team playerSolutions-based, with complex problem-solving abilityVisionary leadershipAbility to motivate a workforce and lead by example, with effective management and delegation skillsCommunication and negotiationPresentation skillsUnderstanding of a multi-faceted business operationStrong financial acumenPlanning and forecastingExcellent organisational skills, time management and adherence to deadlinesHigh attention to detailExtremely good written and oral communication skills (including presentation skills)
