Candidates with infrastructure water experience will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare technical calculations, reports, specifications, drawings, and design documentation.
  • Develop detailed designs for treatment facilities, pumping stations, reservoirs, process tanks, drainage systems, and associated civil infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, process, structural, and environmental disciplines.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, quality requirements, and health & safety legislation.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering workshops.
  • Review contractor and supplier technical submissions.
  • Support project delivery, construction activities, and commissioning phases.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practice.

Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (BEng, BSc, MEng, or MSc).
  • Experience delivering civil engineering design projects within the water, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Experience on non-infrastructure water projects such as WTWs, WWTWs, pumping stations, reservoirs, process tanks, and associated civil infrastructure.
  • Infrastructure water experience including pipelines, trunk mains, rising mains, and water networks is also relevant.
  • Strong technical design, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of UK engineering standards and regulations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Chartered status (CEng) or progress towards chartership is desirable.
  • Experience within regulated water utility environments and AMP frameworks is advantageous.
  • Design-and-build project experience is beneficial.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected consultancy delivering nationally significant AMP8 water programmes, offering flexible working, long-term career development, and exposure to complex multidisciplinary projects across the water sector.
