Chef & Catering Assistant

BBS Recruitment Ltd is currently recruiting experienced Chefs and Catering Assistants to work on an ad hoc basis within a care environment in Malton, North Yorkshire.

Duties & Responsibilities for the Chef:

• Prepare and cook nutritious meals in accordance with individual dietary requirements.
• Follow the IDDSI Framework to prepare modified texture meals safely and accurately.
• Ensure all food is prepared to a high standard and served on time.
• Maintain excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
• Comply with Food Safety, Health & Safety, and COSHH regulations.
• Work collaboratively with the catering team to deliver an excellent service.

Chef Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Chef, preferably within a care, healthcare, or similar environment.
• Food Safety Level 2 Certificate-
• Knowledge and experience of the IDDSI Framework
• Excellent understanding of food hygiene and allergen management.

Duties & Responsibilities for the-Catering Assistant:-

• Support the chefs with food preparation and meal service.
• Assist in serving meals to residents in line with dietary requirements.
• Prepare food and beverages as directed.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dining areas, and equipment.
• Wash up and assist with stock rotation and storage.
• Follow Food Safety and Health & Safety procedures at all times.

Catering Assistant Requirements:

• Previous catering or kitchen experience.
• Food Safety Certificate-
• Experience working within a care environment (essential).
• A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
