CAD / Design Technician

Freelance MandE (Mechanical Bias) CAD / Design Technician Location: Milton Keynes office-based, 3 days per week Rate: £300 £325/day Contract: Freelance with potential to move into a permanent role Overview We are supporting a public sector organisation seeking a freelance MandE CAD / Design Technician (mechanical bias) to support ongoing building services projects. This role sits between CAD production and early-stage design support, assisting the team through RIBA Stage 3. It is not a lead design role but requires a working understanding of building services systems. Key Responsibilities Production of MandE drawings using AutoCAD (Revit beneficial) Supporting the development of designs through RIBA Stages 2 3 Assisting with mechanical services layouts (HVAC, plant rooms, distribution) Working from engineer input to help develop coordinated and buildable designs Contributing to performance specifications and technical documentation Liaising with internal teams to support project delivery and coordination Required Experience Background in MandE / Building Services, with a mechanical bias preferred Experience as a CAD Technician or Junior/Intermediate Design Engineer Strong AutoCAD capability (Revit advantageous) Exposure to RIBA Stage 2 3 design development Understanding of building services systems (HVAC, etc.) Able to support design not just produce drawings Desirable Previous experience in a public sector or local authority environment Exposure to ..... full job details .....
