Business Support Assistant
We are currently recruiting for an excellent temporary opportunity with a well-established public sector organisation based in Stevenage for a Business Support Administrator.
This assignment is will last a minimum of 3 months, with the potential for extension.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
This position will initially be fully office-based during the training period. Following successful completion of training, hybrid working may be available, with the opportunity to work from home 1-2 days per week.
The Role
Working within the Environment and Leisure Department, specifically supporting the Allotments Team, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to the management team responsible for overseeing approximately 1,400 allotment plots across the Stevenage area.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and technical support to the allotment management team.
- Handle general correspondence, complaints, and Freedom of Information requests relating to allotment services.
- Coordinate reports and requests for maintenance works, assisting with the procurement of services in accordance with organisational policies and financial procedures.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating ad-hoc maintenance and repair works to ensure operational efficiency.
- Liaise effectively with colleagues, allotment associations, site representatives, and plot holders to maintain clear communication and service delivery.
- Coordinate plot inspection schedules and issue relevant notices, including Notices to Cultivate and Notices to Quit where necessary.
- Maintain and manage allotment waiting lists accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate the allocation and letting of allotment plots and process applications for related services.
- Manage the receipt, reconciliation, and processing of income associated with allotment services.
- Attend allotment association and stakeholder meetings as required.
- Support public consultation exercises, including preparing and distributing correspondence and questionnaires, and collating and analysing responses.
- Undertake additional ad-hoc administrative duties as required.
