We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team.

Learning Support Assistant (LSA) within Hemel Hempstead

Job Description:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support to help them achieve their full potential. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Providing one-on-one assistance to students with learning difficulties or disabilities, both in and out of the classroom.
• Supporting the classroom teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting teaching materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Assisting with classroom management and ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
• Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to the teacher and parents/guardians as required.
• Collaborating with other members of the school staff, including special education teachers, counsellors, and therapists, to ensure a coordinated approach to student support.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children or young adults in an educational or childcare setting preferred.
• Knowledge of special educational needs (SEN) and strategies for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents/guardians.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
• Relevant qualifications or certifications in education, childcare, or special education preferred but not essential.
