Self-Employed Field Sales / Business Development Partner – Automotive Technology

I’m representing a growing UK automotive technology business looking for a Self-Employed Business Development Partner to develop its customer base across Cambridgeshire.

The business has created a technology platform for independent motor dealers. They’re looking for someone who enjoys meeting people, building relationships and winning new business.

The role

You’ll cover Cambridgeshire, visiting independent dealerships, demonstrating the platform and turning conversations into paying customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Identifying and approaching independent motor dealers across the region
• Visiting dealerships and demonstrating the platform
• Following up enquiries and sales opportunities
• Building your own local network, including through vehicle auctions
• Managing your diary, pipeline and customer relationships

You’ll have flexibility over how you organise your time, with regular face-to-face visits forming a key part of the role.

Who I’m looking for

Automotive experience isn’t essential. I’m interested in someone who:

• Is confident approaching businesses and starting conversations
• Builds rapport and follows through on opportunities
• Has experience in sales or business development
• Is comfortable travelling across Cambridgeshire
• Can manage their own workload
• Understands and is happy with a self-employed, commission-only arrangement

Your background could be in field sales, recruitment, property, telecoms, automotive or another sales environment.
