Under the leadership of the Director of Business Development and Marketing (BD and M), the department provides a broad range of support to the wider firm across Business Development, Bids, Marketing, Communications and Events, comprising 17 members in total.Location : BirminghamHybrid WorkingThe Role
This is a hands-on role in a busy, business development and marketing team. You will be working alongside a team of specialists who are focussed on developing client relationships, winning new business and developing and maintaining our position as go-to advisors in our sectors. You will work on a range of marketing activities and BD initiatives, building the firm''s visibility through a programme of marketing campaigns, thought leadership and events that will raise the profile of the firm and generate new leads as well as analysing client and sector performance.This role is a great opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects and key activities, with exposure to all sectors that the firm works in.Main Duties And Responsibilities
Supporting the Business Development Managers (BDMs) to deliver sector and client plans and bring new business lines and products to marketBuild relationships with external partners to develop the brandWork with the BDMs and Client Account Leads to review and analyse client performance data and make recommendationsAttending sector meetings as required, supporting the BDMs to progress actionsRegularly collate information for contribution to external newsletters and updatesSupport the BDMs with producing financial reports and client account dataWorking on sector campaigns and communications including planning thought leadership and digital content as well as measuring effectiveness and following up and recording activityUndertaking competitor research and market analysis to assess opportunities and intelManaging the firm''s CVs and photography process, ensuring new joiners have a CV and headshot and updating all othersWorking alongside the Senior Business Development Executive to collate directory content and manage key deadlinesSupporting with the firm''s programme of events, including corporate hospitality, webinars and seminarsAssisting the Events Manager with larger event programmes, including organisation, pre-event set up and registration of guestsWorking with the Events Manager to deliver one of our sector Diploma programmesMaintain and update marketing collateralCreating engaging email marketing campaigns and invitations via our email marketing platform (Vuture) and produce mailing lists on our CRM (OnePlace)Using social media to create engaging posts and supporting with the firm’s website contentSupporting with pre-recorded content, including videos and podcast productionWorking with sector teams to ensure Client information is captured within the firm''s CRM system and that we get the most out of the systemWorking with the Senior CRM Executive to keep the database up-to-date and GDPR compliant, as well as working on CRM development projectsAssisting with firm wide projects and campaignsOther duties
Any other duties as reasonably requested by either the Director of BD and M or the Head of Marketing Operations, such as providing support on a wide range of projects and contributing to the general smooth running of the team.Experience
The successful candidate is likely to have an existing role in Business Development and Marketing and have:Relevant experience in a marketing and/or Business Development role, preferably in professional servicesCompetency in the use of all Microsoft Office Suite applicationsWorking knowledge of core marketing areas including copy writing, email marketing, website content management and social mediaExperience updating and maintaining internal databases/CRM systemsExperience coordinating professional eventsExperience of dealing with senior stakeholdersExcellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills with an ability to engage at all levelsThe ability to communicate professionally at all levels within the firm and when representing the firm externallyExcellent time-management skills with the ability to prioritise, work calmly under pressure to tight deadlines, and handle last minute changesGood attention to detail and problem solving skillsCandidates will also be expected to demonstrate that they are:Self-motivated and able to work without direct supervisionProactive and innovative in their approachFocused on the delivery of a first class serviceA team player who is willing to flex and get involved with a range of events and campaignsWilling to travel in the UK, work out of office hours and occasionally stay overnight at eventsEnthusiastic and inquisitive about the work we deliver and committed to overcoming challenges and taking ownership of tasksFocused on helping Capsticks to be Go-to Advisers that clients want by their side and eager to learn more about the sectors and services at CapsticksCapsticks is an inclusive employer
