Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons in Business and Economics.
Differentiate teaching to support a range of abilities and learning styles.
Prepare students for public examinations (GCSE, A-level, BTEC).
Curriculum and Assessment
Contribute to the development of the Business and Economics curriculum.
Mark and assess work according to exam board criteria.
Track and report on student progress.
Classroom Management
Maintain high standards of behaviour and a positive learning environment.
Use effective strategies to motivate students.
Pastoral Responsibilities
Act as a form tutor, supporting students personal development and well-being.
Provide guidance on careers in business, economics, and higher education pathways.
Professional Development
Keep up to date with changes in the subject area and exam specifications.
Participate in departmental meetings, training, and whole-school initiatives.
Skills and Qualities
Strong subject knowledge in Business and Economics.
Ability to explain complex ideas clearly and accessibly.
Classroom management and organisation.
Enthusiasm for inspiring interest in business, finance, and economic issues.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
Qualifications
A degree in Business, Economics, or a related field.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) , usually gained via:
