How do you take AI from an idea and turn it into something that genuinely improves the way an organisation works?

We’re recruiting a Business Analyst to join a public sector organisation in Gloucester as part of a programme focused on Microsoft Copilot, AI and automation.

This is an 18-month FTC where you’ll work across the organisation to identify where AI and automation can save time, improve processes and support better service delivery.

You don’t need to be an AI developer.

We’re looking for a strong BA who understands process, people and technology and can turn business challenges into practical solutions.
What you’ll be doing You’ll work with teams across the organisation to understand how they operate today and identify opportunities to improve the way they work.

This will include:

• Running discovery sessions and stakeholder workshops
• Mapping as-is and to-be processes
• Identifying opportunities for AI and automation
• Gathering and documenting business requirements
• Developing use cases for Microsoft Copilot and automation
• Translating business problems into clear requirements for technical teams
• Supporting business cases and benefits analysis
• Working across technology, operations, information governance and security
• Supporting testing, UAT and implementation
• Helping teams adopt new tools and ways of working
• Measuring whether solutions are delivering the expected benefits

What we’re looking for You’ll need solid experience as a Business Analyst working across technology, digital transformation or business change.

Ideally, you’ll also have experience with some of the following:

• Microsoft Copilot / Copilot Studio
• Power Automate
• Power Apps / Power Platform
• AI or Generative AI projects
• Process automation
• Business process improvement
• Digital transformation
• Benefits realisation

Experience within local government, public sector or another regulated environment would be useful but isn’t essential.

Why this role? AI adoption is moving quickly, but successful implementation is about more than introducing new technology.

It’s about understanding where it adds value, which processes should change and how people actually use it.

That’s where you’ll come in.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across a large organisation, identify practical AI and automation opportunities and help take them from initial discovery through to implementation.
