Building Control Team Manager Contract Type: Ongoing Contract Location: Hybrid - Oxford area and Work from home Salary: Hourly/Day rate negotiable - Competitive Reed is recruiting on behalf of the Council for a Building Control Team Manager. This role offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing and forward-thinking Building Control team, contributing to the development of a world-class city. The position is based on a flexible hybrid working model, requiring the ability to travel across Oxford and work from various office locations. Day-to-day of the role: Lead the delivery of the Building Control function, ensuring compliance with Building Safety Regulator (BSR) requirements and statutory obligations. Manage and develop a team of 5-6 direct reports, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Engage in strategic planning aligned with Council priorities and national regulatory expectations. Oversee complex regulatory and policy implementations and manage the Building Control budget. Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including developers, residents, and statutory bodies, ensuring high standards of customer service and regulatory compliance. Required Skills and Qualifications: Must be registered as a Class 3 Building Inspector with the Building Safety Regulator.
